The Women and Child Development Society (WCDS), headquartered in Kalambur village, Polur Taluk, Tiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu, India, is pleased to announce the formal signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Gandhi Mandela Foundation (GMF) and Fundación Marcelino Muñoz (FMM), Mexico.
These MoUs mark an important milestone in strengthening WCDS’s global partnerships and expanding collaborative efforts to support community development, education, and livelihood enhancement initiatives at the grassroots level.
Established in 2001, WCDS has been working continuously for 24 years across six adopted rural villages in Polur Taluk. The organisation was founded to address barriers to education faced by rural children, particularly girl children, and has since expanded its work to include women’s empowerment, skill development, education support, environmental initiatives, and community welfare programmes.
To date, WCDS has positively impacted over 1,90,000 lives through its sustained grassroots interventions.
Through these partnerships with the Gandhi Mandela Foundation and Fundación Marcelino Muñoz, WCDS looks forward to strengthening its mission and working collaboratively on initiatives that promote education, capacity building, and sustainable community development.
These international collaborations further reinforce WCDS’s commitment to advancing inclusive development and creating meaningful opportunities for rural communities.
